The design procedure we implement, known as the Integrated Design Procedure is a development from Traditional Design Procedures. The Integrated Design Procedure integrates form finding with fabric patterning, providing for enhanced levels of control and certainty in the design process, leading to higher quality structures. Implementation of the Integrated Design Procedure represents a mark in the history of the design of these structures. For the Integrated Design Procedure the starting parameters that control the design are first defined, starting parameters include the shapes of the flat fabric patterns. Form finding is then carried out and then the design is evaluated.
