Founding Partner – Architect

Christian gained his Diploma in Architecture at The Bartlett School of Architecture, University College of London in 1998. With over two decades of experience within the architectural and construction industry, he has collaborated with award winning offices in London and Amsterdam prior to establishing CJA and in 2018 Loop Studio. In parallel, he has carried out the role of Professor in Design for Institutes in Florence and involved in the field of research.

Christian is responsible for the quality of design across the practice instigating a fresh enthusiasm for modern architecture, ensuring high standards and exploring the implementation of new ideas. He works closely with clients to ensure that aspirations and goals are exceeded. His work involves master planning and detailed design of large developments complemented by a sensitive concern for the intimate, small-scale projects and refurbishment of historic buildings.

Nicoletta Cogotti

Founding Partner – Architectural Engineer

Nicoletta gained her Degree in Building Engineering & Architecture at The University of Cagliari in 2008. Prior to establishing Loop Studio, she gained over a decade of industry experience working as project leader on master plan studies, new build and restoration projects; together with a background within the public sector focusing on urban revitalization projects and private interventions in the territory of Cagliari.

She is involved in the design and management of complex projects within the office, carrying out procedures and implementing strategic development. She leads the project management team and further to her planning and technical knowledge involved in the development of interior and product design projects.

Julio Pargana

Partner – Engineer

Julio gained his Diploma in Civil Engineering at Imperial College London, in 1997 and his Doctorate at Imperial College London, in 2004 with specialization in Tensile Fabric Structures. Prior to joining Loop Studio, he carried out the role of post doc researcher at Instituto Superior Tecnico, in Lisbon. His research focusing on a material model for coated woven fabrics used in Tensioned Fabric Structures and non-conventional hybrid elements for the study of the early age behaviour of concrete, which led to numerous publications. Further to his research experience, he worked with Atkins Consultant Engineers on high profile international projects.

Julio leads the Research Unit and is responsible for the development of tensioned fabric structures, structural design analysis and civil engineering consultancy.
