Villa Monti

The project focuses on the modern reinterpretation of the traditional Tuscan farmhouse. The activities are distributed in three elements covering 400m². The composition consists of two ‘L’ shaped wings and a tower. The larger wing houses the open plan living area and two bedrooms and bathrooms, while the smaller wing a garage with laundry storage area. The interconnection of the two wings forms a courtyard which provides natural light, ventilation with its internal garden. The tower provides for a further bedroom and double height studio space with gallery. Emphasis is based on traditional materials applied in a contemporary manner and large glass screens allowing for direct connection to the courtyard and peripheral garden.
