The project focuses on the restoration and transformation of an existing terra cotta furnace facility located in Radda in Chianti to winery use. The design strategy concentrates in the distribution of activities, in relation to the characteristics of the existing spaces and subdivided into 1365 m² designated to the fermentation process with temperature controlled tanks with a gravity feed process, two large halls to house ageing in wood, a bottling facility with laboratory, technical rooms, staff changing area and amenities. The 650m² historical block located at the end of the complex will contain the administrative offices, direct sales and tasting area with enoteca. While the 320m² satellite building to provide for the storage of the final bottled product, allowing for easy access for the expedition of wine. Together with the technical interventions required, the choice of materials and finishes will blend the industrial nature of the facility around the Carleone wine making philosophy.
